Night Blindness
You walk around in the world
unseen
It’s come to be expected
Those who purport to care about you
have become blind
to your struggles
You wander aimlessly in the darkness
because there’s no one there
to help you find your light
Knowing if the misery swallowed you whole
no one would come to claim
your corpse
More than you think care

When you get dragged into the utterly lonely and soul-suckingly empty, yet strangely comforting and familiar darkness, you do not think about the ones who silently care about you from afar… For at this point only those that will set themselves alight to pierce the darkness shrouding me are the ones that will be noticed, for I do it for them on a daily basis.
Little did I know, when surprising a friend with a visit today, that it would be exactly what she needed, as the darkness has been swallowing her.
